Many of us have found nature to be a calming escape from the new realities we are currently facing. These days of sheltering have offered us an opportunity to seek nature with renewed enthusiasm and experience a newfound connection with the earth. Nature has long been the muse of artists: from the smallest organism to the most powerful storm, the mysteries of the natural world continue to be a source of inspiration. As Henri Matisse once said, “An artist must possess Nature. He must identify himself with her rhythm, by efforts that will prepare the mastery which will later enable him to express himself in his own language.” Seeking nature, however, is more than merely being within it – it is also an attempt to uncover something you didn’t already know. An artist’s interpretation gives us a fresh perspective to see what we might have never observed for ourselves.
Pamela Walsh Gallery is proud to present SEEKING NATURE, an exhibition of 6 contemporary artists who are deeply inspired by nature, connected to the rhythms of the earth and courageous enough to share with us the beauty they have discovered. We hope that these works of art offer you some respite and allow you to discover something for yourself.
Exhibition opens in the Gallery on July 16th.
