Group Chat: Dialogues in Contemporary Practice
Pamela Walsh Gallery is pleased to present Group Chat: Dialogues in Contemporary Practice, a year-end exhibition bringing together a selection of contemporary artists whose practices engage in an ongoing exchange - between color and material, intuition and structure, individuality and connection.
On view from December 12, 2025, through January 10, 2026, the exhibition marks the gallery’s final presentation of the year. An opening reception will be held on Friday, December 12, from 5–7 p.m.
Taking its title from the familiar mode of digital communication, Group Chat reimagines that concept through a visual and material dialogue. Each artist contributes a distinct voice to a shared conversation, where gestures, textures, and palettes respond to one another across the gallery space. The result is a dynamic interplay of rhythm, resonance, and contrast - an intersection of contemporary abstraction, figuration, and material exploration.
Through painting, mixed media, and works on paper, the exhibition explores the expressive possibilities of surface and form. Some works pulse with improvisational energy, while others reveal a more deliberate sense of balance and restraint. Together, they reflect the multifaceted nature of creative exchange: moments of harmony, divergence, and unexpected connection.
Group Chat offers a vibrant and reflective dialogue among contemporary practices. Through the interplay of form and intention, the works suggest how conversation - visual or otherwise - can bridge perspectives and open new ways of seeing.
